第12条(2)は、附属書IVに掲げるもの以外のすべてのカテゴリーの機械について使用すべき適合性評価手続を定めている。従うべき手続は、機械の製造に関する内部検査を伴う適合性評価手続であり、「供給者適合宣言」
Article 12 (2) sets out the conformity assessment procedure to be used for all categories of machinery other than those listed in Annex IV. 又は「第一者証明」と呼ばれることもある――§395：附属書VIIIに関する解説を参照。この手続には、ノーティファイドボディの関与は伴わない。しかしながら、製造者又はその認定代理人は、機械の適合性評価を実施するために必要なあらゆる独立した助言又は支援を自由に求めることができる。製造者は、機械の適合を評価するために必要な確認、検査及び試験を自ら実施し、又は自ら選択する有能な機関に委託することができる。関連する技術報告書は技術ファイルに含めなければならない――§392：附属書VII A 1(a)第6ダッシュに関する解説を参照。
Conformity” or “first party attestation” – see §395: comments on Annex VIII. This procedure does not involve the intervention of a Notified Body. However, the manufacturer or his authorised representative is free to seek any independent advice or assistance he needs in order to carry out the conformity assessment of the machinery. He may carry out the checks, inspections and tests and inspections needed to assess the conformity of the machinery himself or entrust them to any competent body of his choice. The relevant technical reports shall be included in the technical file – see §392: comments on Annex VII A 1 (a), sixth indent.
附属書IVに掲げるもの以外の機械のカテゴリーについてはノーティファイドボディが存在しないことに留意すべきである。附属書IV以外の機械の製造者は、附属書IVの機械の一定のカテゴリーについて通知された機関に助言又は支援を求めることができる。しかしながら、その場合、当該機関はノーティファイドボディとして行動しているのではなく、当該活動に関するいかなる文書においても、欧州委員会から割り当てられた識別番号を使用してはならない――§133：第14条に関する解説を参照。
It should be noted that there are no Notified Bodies for categories of machinery other than those listed in Annex IV. Manufacturers of non-Annex IV machinery may seek advice or assistance from Bodies that are notified for certain categories of Annex IV machinery. However, in that case, the body is not acting as a Notified Body and must not use the identification number assigned to it by the Commission on any documents relating to such activity – see §133: comments on Article 14.
