§220 — The installer’s plate

指令2006/42/ECの附属書Iの1.7.3に従いすべての機械に求められる最小限の事項に加え、各かごには、定格積載量（キログラム）及び運ぶことのできる最大乗客数を明示した見やすい銘板を付さなければならない。
5.1. In addition to the minimum particulars required for any machine pursuant to point 1.7.3 of Annex I to Directive 2006/42/EC, each car must bear an easily visible plate clearly showing the rated load in kilograms and the maximum number of passengers, which may be carried.

The requirement set out in point 5.1 refers to point 1.7.3 of Annex I to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.

All machinery must be marked visibly, legibly and indelibly with the following minimum particulars:
the business name and full address of the manufacturer and, where applicable, his authorised representative,

designation of series or type,

serial number, if any,
製造年、すなわち製造工程が完了した年
the year of construction, that is the year in which the manufacturing process is completed.
昇降機の場合、製造業者の名称及び住所は、設置者の名称及び住所と理解しなければならない。第2条第6項に関するコメントを参照のこと。5.1に規定する容易に視認できる銘板は、その情報が昇降機の使用者及び必要な場合には市場監視当局の双方にとって容易に入手可能でなければならないため、搬器の内部に設けなければならない。
In the case of lifts, the name and address of the manufacturer shall be understood as the name and address of the installer - see comments on Article 2(6). The easily visible plate referred to in point 5.1 must be placed inside the lift carrier since the information must be readily available both to users of the lifts and to market surveillance authorities, if necessary.

The word “plate” in Point 5.1 of Annex I on the Essential Health and Safety Requirements of the Lifts Directive can include LCD displays as long as the resulting markings are “visibly, legibly and indelibly” affixed to the lift car. In particular, the word of “indelibly” suggests that it must be a permanent indication that cannot disappear due to an electronical failure, power outage or effaced over the lifetime of the lift car. It is the installer’s responsibility to ensure that the LCD display markings comply with these factual requirements for the markings.
