§79 — The official languages of the European Union

使用説明書及び安全情報について第6条第8項に示す「最終使用者が容易に理解できる言語」を関係加盟国が決定することは、EU加盟27か国で使用されている公用語に関連している。現在、EUの公用語は24ある。
The determination by the Member State concerned of the "language which can be easily understood by end-users", as indicated in Article 6(8) for instructions and safety information, is related to the official languages used in the 27 EU Member States. At present, there are 24 official EU languages:

2以上の公用語を有する加盟国の一部（ベルギー、フィンランド）は、その言語のみが話されている地域では一の言語のみの使用を認めている。
Certain of the Member States with two or more official languages (Belgium, Finland) accept the use of one language only in areas where only that language is spoken;
2つの公用語を有するその他の加盟国（マルタ及びアイルランド）は、英語のみの使用を認めている。製造業者は、関係国家当局にこの点を確認することが推奨される。
other Member States with two official languages (Malta and Ireland) accept the sole use of English. Manufacturers are advised to check this with the national authorities concerned.
欧州経済領域（EEA）、スイスとの相互承認協定（MRA）及びトルコとの関税同盟（CU）によりATEX指令が適用されるその他の国では、指令を実施する国内規定が当該国の公用語の使用を求めている。
In the other countries where the ATEX Directive applies in virtue of the European Economic Area (EEA), the Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) with Switzerland and the Custom Union (CU) with Turkey, the national provisions implementing the Directive require the use of the official language(s) of the country concerned:
