§134 — Equipment-group I, category M1

1. 機器グループI (a) 機器カテゴリーM 1は、製造業者が定めた運用パラメータに従って機能することができ、非常に高い水準の保護を確保するよう設計され、必要な場合には追加の特別な保護手段を備えた機器から成る。
1. Equipment-group I (a) Equipment category M 1 comprises equipment designed and, where necessary, equipped with additional special means of protection to be capable of functioning in conformity with the operational parameters established by the manufacturer and ensuring a very high level of protection.
このカテゴリーの機器は、坑内ガス（ファイアダンプ）及び／又は可燃性粉じんにより危険にさらされる鉱山の坑内部分及び当該鉱山の地上設備の部分で使用することを意図している。
Equipment in this category is intended for use in underground parts of mines as well as those parts of surface installations of such mines endangered by firedamp and/or combustible dust.
このカテゴリーの機器は、機器に関するまれな事象の場合であっても、爆発性雰囲気が存在する状態で機能し続けることが求められ、次のような保護手段を特徴とする。
Equipment in this category is required to remain functional, even in the event of rare incidents relating to equipment, with an explosive atmosphere present, and is characterized by means of protection such that:
一の保護手段が故障した場合に、少なくとも独立した第二の手段が必要な保護水準を提供すること、又は
– either, in the event of failure of one means of protection, at least an independent second means provides the requisite level of protection,
相互に独立して二つの故障が生じた場合に必要な保護水準が確保されること
– or the requisite level of protection is assured in the event of two faults occurring independently of each other.
このカテゴリーの機器は、附属書II第2.0.1項に規定する補足的要件に適合しなければならない。
Equipment in this category must comply with the supplementary requirements referred to in point 2.0.1 of Annex II.
このカテゴリーの製品は、爆発性雰囲気が存在するときに安全上の理由から機能し続けることが求められ、次のように機能する統合された防爆措置を特徴とする。- 統合された措置の一つが故障した場合に、少なくとも第二の保護手段が十分な水準の安全を提供する、又は - 2つの故障が互いに独立して発生した場合に、十分な水準の安全が確保される。
Products of this category are required to remain functional for safety reasons when an explosive atmosphere is present and are characterised by integrated explosion protection measures functioning in such a way that: - in the event of failure of one integrated measure, at least a second means of protection provides for a sufficient level of safety; or, - in the event of two faults occurring independently of each other, a sufficient level of safety is ensured.
このカテゴリーに関する製品は、指令2014/34/EUの附属書IIの2.0.1に詳述する補足要件にも適合しなければならない。
Products relating to this category must also comply with the supplementary requirements as detailed in Annex II, paragraph 2.0.1 to Directive 2014/34/EU.
M1に分類されうる機器の例には、次のものがある。- ガス検知システム機器、- 通信機器、- 鉱山救助目的で使用される機器。
Examples of equipment that might be categorised M1 include: - gas detection system equipment; - communications equipment; - equipment used for mine rescue purposes.
上記のいずれも、爆発性雰囲気が検知された場合に、安全上の理由から運転を継続することが求められることがある。
All the above may be required to continue operating for safety reasons if an explosive atmosphere has been detected.
