合理的に予見可能な条件の下で許容限度を超えうる場合には、安全付属品の形の保護装置を設けなければならず、適切な場合には監視装置を追加しなければならない。
When, under reasonably foreseeable conditions, the allowable limits could be exceeded, a protective device in the form of a safety accessory must be provided, with the addition, where appropriate, of a monitoring device.

附属書I第2.11節は、監視装置には適用されない安全付属品の必須安全要件を定めている。特に、安全付属品は適切な設計原則により必須安全要件に適合しなければならない。これは、使用中の定期的な監視に関する指示に依存しない、適切で信頼できる保護を得るためである。
Annex I Section 2.11 sets out the essential safety requirements for the safety accessories that do not apply to monitoring devices. In particular, safety accessories shall comply with the essential safety requirements by appropriate design principles. This is in order to obtain suitable and reliable protection that does not rely on instructions for regular supervision during use.
