§24 — Who is responsible for the translation of instructions in the language required in the Member State concerned where the electrical equipment is made available?

LVDは、どの経済事業者が取扱説明書及び安全情報の翻訳について責任を負うかを特定していない。製造業者、輸入業者及び販売業者は、関係加盟国が定める、消費者その他のエンドユーザーが容易に理解できる言語による取扱説明書が製品に添付されていることを確保する義務を負う。
The LVD does not specify which economic operator is responsible for translating the instructions and safety information. The manufacturer, importer and distributor have the obligation to ensure that the product is accompanied by instructions in a language which can be easily understood by consumers and other end-users, as determined by the Member State concerned.
加盟国において製品を提供する各経済事業者が、当該加盟国で要求されるすべての言語で取扱説明書が利用可能であることを確保しなければならない。経済事業者が翻訳の方法について契約上の合意を結ぶことは何ら妨げられない。
It is for each economic operator which makes available the product in a Member State, to ensure that instructions are available in all the languages required in that Member State. Nothing prevents economic operators from reaching contractual agreements on the manner in which they are translated.
製造業者は、製品の出荷を予定する地域の一定の言語で取扱説明書を提供するが、製品が予定外の市場に流れた場合には、輸入業者及び販売業者が、要求される言語に取扱説明書が翻訳されることを確保しなければならない。これは、経済事業者が契約上の取決めによりどのように組織されているかによる。
A manufacturer provides the instructions in a certain set of languages where he intends to ship the product but if his product ends up in an unintended market, the importer and the distributor must ensure that instructions are translated in the required language. It depends on how economic operators are organised by contractual arrangements.
LVDは、取扱説明書及び安全情報並びにあらゆる表示が明確で、理解しやすく、わかりやすいものでなければならないと定めており、したがって、これらの基準を満たさない翻訳は不適合とみなされ、認められない。
The LVD requires that instructions and safety information, as well as any labelling, shall be clear, understandable and intelligible and therefore translations not meeting these criteria will be considered as non-compliant and will not be acceptable.
